Tigers' Library

Mission Statement

The mission of the Blue Valley High School Tigers’ Library is to provide information, access services, and library instruction in support of the evolving curriculum of Blue Valley High School, along with a dynamic collection reflecting the diverse interest in our school community.  The Library staff provides leadership in the use and retrieval of information, consistent with the school’s mission of educational growth, excellence, and responsibility in order to meet, and anticipate, present and future needs of our students and staff.

Vision Statement

The Blue Valley High Library strives to be the “heartbeat” of the school, where personal and academic growth is the principal focus.  Our primary endeavor is to be service oriented and provide the school community (students, teachers, staff, and parents) the opportunities and means to achieve and grow.  The Tigers’ Library will accomplish this by:

  • Creating a safe, clean, and inviting atmosphere conducive to creativity and personal growth
  • Collaborating and supporting teachers in an instructional partnership
  • Acquiring and maintaining a collection that reflects the personal, academic, and professional needs of the school community
  • Promoting a culture that values reading and literacy
  • Providing media and technology resources that are up-to-date and relevant to the ever-changing curriculum and technological demands of the 21st century learner
